Surprise Engagement Shoot In Cornelius, NC

I’m a little late posting this one from last year, but it’s a good one!

This is one of my favorite Engagement shoots I’ve done! My client contacted me for an engagement shoot at the restaurant Hello, Sailor in Cornelius, NC.

However, this wasn’t a typical request. He wanted me to remain “hidden” so I could capture the genuine reaction. In a world where everyone wants to fake their engagement sessions, I applaud Jason for wanting authentic engagement photos.

Since we were in the middle of a restaurant, there was nowhere for me to hide. So, I set my laptop on the table next to theirs, put my camera on the table and pretended like I was working/ editing photos. I pointed the camera at them, but was using remote view on my cell phone. This enabled me to photograph the initial reaction without even looking their direction.

After I got the initial reaction without being seen. I then revealed myself, and from there we wondered around the restaurant, as well as the dock outside Hello, Sailor. Luckily the management at Hello, Sailor were awesome lads. We had freedom to wonder around as we pleased.

It was a pleasure working with these two and I hope they get everything they want in this life.
